Sean Whalen

Twister \ Batman Returns \ "got milk?" commercial \ that thing you do | Crust | Friends

Before this shoot, Sean and I had been exchanging ideas for about a year, waiting for our schedules to align. We brainstormed all sorts of concepts, and by the time we finally met, Sean was just a week away from releasing his film, "Crust," which we knew we wanted to feature in our session. We decided to mix things up with some playful, "goofy" shots—perfect for Sean's fun personality—along with serious portraits. We even did a nostalgic homage to his role in "Twister," recreating a classic pose and wardrobe, complete with the actual hat he wore in the movie. Plus, we shot a series inspired by his iconic "Got Milk?" ad, which he jokes led to the decline of his commercial career (but that's a story for another time).

When I arrived at his place, we got to know each other while setting up and jumped right into the shoot. It was clear from the start that Sean was going to be a blast to work with. He’s been in nearly everything, so we spent a lot of time reminiscing about his various roles, even reconnecting him with his "That Thing You Do" co-star, Johnathon Schaech.

I'm thrilled with the photos we captured. Sean’s creativity and willingness to play made this shoot a huge success. Looking forward to our next adventure, Sean!
